In dedication to a woman of Paradise- Aasiya (May Allah be Pleased with her)

A righteous lady married to the biggest tyrant,
Her husband denied the truth so vehemently,
Yet she worshipped the One True Lord secretly,
Of Islam she was a strong adherent.

She was most beloved to the worst oppressor,
But she gave up riches amongst richest and chose to suffer,
She wasn’t willing to give up the truth,
When she was tortured for days on end, Islam was there to sooth.

A smile on her face she constantly had,
And they even resorted to calling her mad,
It was the truth and beauty of Islam that she had tasted,
Her life was for Allah only and nothing was wasted.

Years before the seeds had already been planted,
She was inspired to take in the baby Moosa (Peace and Blessings be upon him),
When it was the baby boys heads that Fir’aun (Pharaoh) wanted,
Allah’s plan triumphed and He provided the answer.

Aasiyah (May Allah be pleased with her), indeed your sacrifice was not in vain,
Allah was the witness of your suffering and pain.
Promised Jannah (Paradise) by Allah Most High,
Your beautiful story makes me want to cry.

Your love for Allah was so much,
And I can only wish that I had your strength,
You are a true and perfect example for us,
Clearly epitomising what's important in life.

May Allah Almight be Pleased with this amazing woman and may Allah give us strength the way Allah gave strength to Aasiya. Inshaa Allah!

  1. Thank you for this post. I already knew the story of Maryam, Khadija and Fatima's (may Allah be pleased with them), but never heard the story of Aasya (may Allah be pleased with her). she seems to be a person of great faith who suffered greatly, but never let it interfere in her devotion to Allah. She, like Maryam, Fatima and Khadija is a great example for Muslim women. Once again, thanks for the post.

  2. Thank you for your positive comments my dear sisters.

Damarcia- You are correct, we have so many great women to take as examples. Aasiya was the wife of Pharaoh in the time of Moses. History tells us that she was his most beloved wife, but she embraced Islam when Moses preached the message of Allah and for a while she practised in secrecy. When Pharaoh found out he was angry as can be expected, and insisted that she give up Islam, but she refused and remained steadfast. We are told that he had her tortured in public, and he kept asking her to give up Islam, but each day she refused, and when they tortured her,she smiled because she knew that what she would get by Allah was far better because of all her suffering. It is even said that she died with a smile on her face, after she had been tortured for days on end. Still throughout it all she never gave Allah or Islam up. Glory be to Allah. I only pray that I can be as strong as she was. We are told that she was one of the four women promised Paradise (Khadija,Mariam and Fatima- May Allah be pleased with them) are the other three.

May Allah Almighty bless them all and be pleased with them and may Allah help us to become like them.

Stay well sister and stay in touch:)
